Melbourne-based streetwear label Travisty has clinched a deal with leading fashion retailer Universal Store that will see it expand its penetration of the Queensland market from this month. Universal - which operates 15 stores located throughout Queensland, with plans to open additional outlets down the track - stocks some of Australia's most recognisable brands.

The new partnership with marked a significant move for the label, said Travisty national sales manager Shaun Wallis, particularly as the average male in Queensland was not as brand-driven as those elsewhere in Australia. Expanding distribution into the Queensland market had been a longstanding goal for Travisty, he confirmed.

"As we strive to become a national brand, our expansion into this territory is important and a natural path. We have numerous new relationships being built via the Broncos, Cowboys and Titans NRL teams and the GC17 newly established AFL team, and are developing more of a following in this market."

Travisty's Queensland presence would kick off with its summer collection, offering an extensive range of vintage shorts, denim staples and tee-shirts, all promoted by NRL superstar Billy Slater as its leading ambassador.

Since the brand's launch five years ago, Travisty has witnessed significant growth within the street fashion market and is now stocked in over 100 retailers across Australia.
