A recent addition to the brand offering of established Melbourne fashion house Melro Distributors will make its debut appearance at Fashion Exposed this August.
Launched 18 months ago, womenswear label Pua (pictured) complements Melro's renowned M.E.L. Australia brand by offering an affordable fashion line aimed at the 30-plus market.
Comprising a wholesale ‘in season' range of on-trend clothing designed to flatter the body shape of 30-plus women, Pua was manufactured offshore to the highest standards, assuring an attainable average retail price point of $199, Melro sales & marketing manger Nicola Hazzell confirmed.
"We've set the RRP of Pua specifically in order to offer a high margin," she said. "We believe this will make the brand particularly attractive to buyers."
Having garnered a strong following in the Melbourne market, Pua's showcase at Fashion Exposed was intended to boost the brand's profile nationally. Pua would benefit from being displayed alongside M.E.L. Australia, she added.
"The market knows M.E.L. Australia very well, but they may not yet be so familiar with Pua. We believe buyers will be reassured when they see the brand comes from the same company as M.E.L. Australia."
Launched in 1996 and proudly made in Melbourne, M.E.L. Australia comprises a premium quality, complete fashion lifestyle range for 30-plus women, at retail prices from $115 to $499.
Offering clothing for ‘everywhere but the gym', the label encompassed wedding and eventwear, mother-of-the-bride fashion, career clothing and stylish weekend wear, Hazzell confirmed.
"We call M.E.L. Australia ‘after Chapel Street'. It's a fashion focused brand for young-minded, young-spirited women, but allows for women's changing body shape."
